I recently did a little decorating with spray paint...
When we moved Oct. 1 the girls had to start sharing a room, we decorated it with a "Paris" them and the colors are black & white with lime green as the accent color. I had an idea for the bed, I wanted a "vintage" looking iron headboard. I started looking at antique stores and online for ideas and finally found this on Craigslist:
It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I really just wanted a headboard - not a footboard (because they are not as easy to make the bed), but for $80 I figured I could make it work!
I wanted to paint it black to match their room, so I went to Home Depot for sandpaper, primer and paint. I went with the Rust-Oleum brand and I think it turned out great. This is what it looked like after I sanded it, I forgot to take a picture after I put the primer on :(
Here is the finished product in the girls room - it looks really cute, don't you think?

1 helpful hint, don't try to use the chocolate baking squares that I have shown here, we actually had to cut them in half, they were too tall! I will use Hershey's Miniatures next time. Oh, I should also add here that they only go in the microwave for 10 SECONDS!
The girls had fun making them but I think I had more fun getting the pictures!

I'm excited to announce that I've added something fun to my plate this year... I've always loved hunting for Treasures, Collecting Pretty Things and Crafting, and my Shop is sort of a conglomeration of all of these interests. I will also be offering Unique Art Prints that I have created. I will be adding items on a daily basis, so look often, you just might see something you can't live without!
Check out my new Etsy Shop "ShopGinaKay" and let me know what you think!
If you haven't heard of Etsy, you simply must check it out! Go to Etsy.com and just start browsing thru the shops or search for a particular item.
This shoot from a couple weeks ago was simply a blast! I photographed these 2 sisters right before Christmas last year and their Aunt Amanda brought them to me again this year - I just love repeat clients! Clients for Life is my goal, I really enjoy getting to know the kids and catching up with them when I see them. We went for the outdoor session this year and their cute camo outfits worked perfectly for this location, beautiful Helen's Garden in League City, Texas. Since our weather is pretty mild, it actually looks like Fall in these images instead of December, doesn't it? Here are some of my favorites, feel free to leave comments, they are always appreciated!
I can't wait to see what we come up with for Miss Alexus and Miss Ashley for their 2011 photo shoot!
